Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo showed a moment of class by giving Sadio Mane the chance to end his goal drought during Al-Nassr's 2-0 win over Al-Wedha. Ronaldo - who is eyeing up the 1000-goal milestone - edged closer to achieving that feat as he gave Al-Nassr the lead in the 48th minute. Angelo Gabriel's cross was met by Ronaldo inside the box and he made no mistake, heading the ball into the bottom corner. The 40-year-old five-time Ballon d'Or winner then had the chance to add a second and wrap up the three points for Al-Nassr. His free-kick hit the arm of a Al-Wedha defender in the area and the referee pointed to the penalty spot, giving Ronaldo - the usual taker - the opportunity to score his 26th of the season. However, Ronaldo produced a brilliant gesture by handing the ball to out-of-form ex-Liverpool winger Sadio Mane to take the spot-kick. Mane, who hadn't scored in each of his last nine matches beforehand, has been bang out of form but he managed to convert from 12 yards to wrap up a 2-0 win for Al-Nassr. Ronaldo could also been seen urging fans to stop whistling Mane before he took the penalty. Mane, 32, didn't let that effect him as he coolly slotted home his sixth Saudi Pro League goal of the campaign. The win moves Al-Nassr back up to third in the league table after they overtook Al-Qadisiyah - who lost 4-1 to Al-Ahli. Stefano Pioli's side are now eight points behind leaders Al-Ittihad, who have a game in hand. Although it does appear that Al-Nassr are pleased with the win against Al-Wedha, they are not happy about everything. In fact, Al-Nassr were left frustrated after the game was delayed due to turning up late - something that frustrated and angered Ronaldo, who issued an apology to the club's fans. "It was a tough game. The first half was difficult because we did a journey three hours in the bus because of traffic and the roads were closed," Ronaldo told SSC sports in a post-match interview. "I want to apologise on behalf of Al-Nassr for starting the game late. This is should not happen again. Sorry," Portugal international added. "We started not very good, but in second half we were a little bet better. We fixed our issues and we scored two goals so we are happy."
