Manchester United backed to break six-game Premier League winless streak after Europa League heroics

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they welcome West Ham United to Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim's side will head into the tie full of confidence after securing their place in the Europa League final on Thursday evening. A brace from Mason Mount and goals from Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund secured a 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao to seal a 7-1 aggregate victory in their semi-final. With the final against Tottenham Hotspur locked in for 12 days' time, United have two games between now and then to iron out their preparations. The first of those is against a West Ham side who are in dreadful form and will offer United a chance to snap their six-game winless streak in the Premier League . Here's how the pundits see United faring. The former Blackburn and Celtic forward told BBC Sport: "I am not sure who would want to watch this game? Manchester United's second string versus such a poor West Ham side with nothing to play for is not exactly essential viewing, is it? "The Europa League final is going to be Ruben Amorim's focus for the rest of the season and Brentford made the most of that when they beat a weakened United team last weekend. "I am not sure the Hammers are as dynamic as Brentford in attack, however, so they may not be capable of doing the same thing. "A lot depends on the United team selection, though. It is hard enough making predictions anyway, but its even harder when there could be mass changes, and you don't know whether it is the United first team who are going to play, or be more like the youth team. "That makes this more of a guess, when I am used to applying science to my predictions, but I wish I had gone for West Ham to draw with Tottenham last week, and I am not going to make the same mistake this time." Sutton's prediction: Manchester United 1-1 West Ham The Sky Sports pundit told SportsKeeda: "The feel good factor from the win over Athletic Bilbao will still be there at Old Trafford this weekend. And I fully expect Manchester United to make it count against a struggling West Ham. "Graham Potter is on an horrendous run of form, having not won in the last eight games! United could punish them bad if they're not careful here. "Mason Mount netted a couple of big goals in the second leg win over Bilbao. That will be a huge boost for him. With Amad Diallo also returning from injury, Ruben Amorim maybe has a decent chance of lifting silverware in the Europa League final. Anyway, three points but no clean sheet for United in this one." Merson's prediction: Manchester United 3-1 West Ham The former BBC Sport pundit told Paddy Power: "West Ham are just shocking at the moment and they are lucky the three that came up have been as bad as they have. "Manchester United played the first team in the Europa League on Thursday but they might get a little kick in performances now with everyone trying to get a spot in the starting line up for the final." Lawrenson's prediction: Manchester United 2-1 West Ham
