Marcus Rashford's dream move 'revealed' as Aston Villa boss issues £40m Manchester United update

Marcus Rashford is reportedly hopeful his top form at Aston Villa will grant him a big European move. The Manchester United loanee, rediscovered his form under Unai Emery and has scored three goals and claimed five assists since arriving at Villa Park in February. As his loan spell will come to an end next month, Villa have the option to make his move permanent for £40million. However, talkSPORT claim Rashford would prefer to start afresh abroad, favouring a switch to Barcelona in the summer. The 27-year-old was linked with a loan move to Barca in the winter market after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim . If Barcelona had stepped up their interest and made a move possible for Rashford, he would have completed a dream move to the Nou Camp. But sporting director Deco later admitted the Catalan club decided he was 'not a priority.' "The winter market is always difficult. It's true that in the past, there have been important moments for Barca, like the arrival of [Edgar] Davids, but there is no Davids available today in the market," Deco said at the time. "It's tough because the good players, those who can contribute, are not available. "It's true that Rashford was talked about, and he could have come, but we weren’t desperately looking for a player. We knew we were recovering players, and others were getting closer to their best versions. If he could have come, it would’ve been nice, but it wasn't a priority." The 27-year-old continued to impress for Villa, this time against Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League exit on Tuesday night - a game that potential suitors would be watching closely. The report adds that the prospect of Rashford being welcomed back by Ruben Amorim ahead of next season, is 'slim'. But whether Barca comes knocking at the door - and whether Rashford's dream comes true this summer - remains to be seen. With Villa holding the option to make his move permanent, Emery remained tight-lipped on whether the club would trigger the deal. "It is difficult to plan now," he told Amazon Prime. "He's feeling comfortable and better. He played a fantastic match. If he’s happy, we are happy. Then, of course, it depends on the circumstances and what happens in the next weeks, and (what we have) in the next year as well."
