Marinduque State University (MarSU) has made its debut on the global stage after earning a spot in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), marking a significant milestone in the university’s academic journey. In its first-ever participation, MarSU ranked 330th among the Top 400 Most Innovative Universities worldwide, out of 1,253 higher education institutions evaluated by WURI.Even more impressively, MarSU secured Top 100 placements in three key innovation categories: 32nd in Ethics and Accountability, 40th in Industrial Application, and 51st in Funding for Sustainability. The WURI rankings, known for emphasizing real-world impact and innovative approaches in higher education, highlight institutions that go beyond traditional metrics by recognizing their ethical leadership, practical contributions to industry, and sustainable development efforts. This international recognition follows closely on the heels of MarSU’s inclusion in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings – another first for the university – further cementing its emergence on the global higher education map.University President Prof. Dr. Disdado Zulueta credited the achievement to the collective effort of the academic community, Board of Regents, administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and institutional partners. He emphasized that the back-to-back recognitions reflect the university’s unwavering commitment to innovation, integrity, and inclusive quality education. These milestones show that MarSU is on the path to becoming a globally recognized institution, one that champions ethical responsibility and contributes to sustainable development through transformative education.
