Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has re-joined the Delhi Capitals camp in Visakhapatnam ahead of the team’s second match of IPL 2025 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 32-year-old right-handed batter from Bengaluru, who was signed for Rs 14 crore by the national capital-based franchise in the IPL 2025 mega auction, had left for Mumbai last Sunday to be with his wife, Athiya Shetty, for the birth of their first child.
After becoming the father of a baby girl on Monday (March 24), Rahul joined his new Delhi Capitals teammates and took part in a team bonding session during which he hilariously mimicked Kevin Pietersen and Faf du Plessis.
The video of Rahul copying Pietersen’s and du Plessis’s batting stance was shared by the franchise on its social media handles, and it went viral on the internet.

Pietersen is associated with Delhi Capitals as a mentor, whereas Du Plessis is part of DC’s IPL 2025 squad. The former South African captain who has also played for CSK and RCB in the IPL was appointed as DC’s vice-captain last week.
Rahul to play vs SRH
DC will face SRH in the 10th league match of IPL 2025 on Sunday at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and in that, Rahul is set to make his IPL debut for Delhi Capitals. However, it will be interesting to see his batting position. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter has played as an opener for PBKS and LSG in the IPL, but with DC, he could be seen at No. 4.
Delhi Capitals, which kicked off its IPL 2025 campaign with a one-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (March 24), would like to maintain the winning run on Sunday afternoon as well and get the better of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad-based franchise kicked off its campaign in IPL 2025 on March 23 with a 44-run win over Rajasthan Royals, but on Thursday (March 27), it went down by five wickets against Lucknow Super Giants at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
