M&D's in Lanarkshire helps children in poverty with Destination Christmas cash boost

A television broadcaster’s fundraising appeal to help children affected by poverty has been boosted by £1000 that was raised during M&D’s Destination Christmas event. Launched in 2011 to support children and families across Scotland, STV Children’s Appeal offers practical help to families such as food and warm clothes, and creating training and employment opportunities. The STV Children's Appeal fundraising manager was delighted to receive the welcome financial boost from M&D’s Director of M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park, Jensen Taylor Connelly, presented Emma Jackson, STV Children’s Appeal Fundraising Manager with the cheque. The money was raised during the Theme Park’s Destination Christmas event, a feast of family experiences and attractions, and will support the Appeal’s ongoing mission to help children living in poverty. Jensen Taylor Connelly, Director, M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park said: “The practical and emotional support the Appeal provides is really amazing and we’re pleased to be able to add to the pot that makes this fantastic work happen.” Emma Jackson, STV Children’s Appeal Fundraising Manager added: “I had the pleasure of going along to the M&D’s Destination Christmas event and had a brilliant evening. It was a fantastic family event and we’re so grateful to the organisers and guests for their donation of £1000. Every penny will be used to support children and families that need it most across Scotland.” Located at Strathclyde Park in Motherwell, M&D’s Scotland’s Theme Park is packed with attractions such as, Amazonia, Devil’s Island Adventure Golf, Cosmic Bowl, and Krazy Congo Soft Play, as well as rides suitable for all age groups. There are also many food outlets to enjoy, including the award-winning Monterey Jack’s American themed diner which has a special festive menu available.
