After four days, they released a written apology letter in Indonesian, English, and Korean languages, which was shared through social media on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.The letter was addressed to all fans who were present at the DAY6 3RD WORLD TOUR FOREVER YOUNG concert at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Mecimapro apologized for all the discomfort experienced during the concert, including the venue change. Previously, the DAY6 concert was planned to be held at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) before being moved to Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment you have experienced," wrote Mecimapro. In addition to the familiar fans called My Day, the promoter also apologized to the four members of DAY6, namely Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, as well as their agency, JYP Entertainment.Mecimapro Acknowledges Inability to Meet StandardsMecimapro expressed regret for all the discomfort during the DAY6 concert in Jakarta. "With deep regret, we recognize that we have not been able to meet the standards that you should have received," they wrote. They fully acknowledged responsibility for this.According to the promoter, the various problems that occurred were not the experience they had hoped the fans would have. Mecimapro admitted that they would improve to prevent a similar incident from recurring. They discussed with the Indonesian Promoters Association (APMI) and government representatives and related ministries to seek input."Based on these guidelines, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of our planning, implementation, and communication in the future," wrote Mecimapro, who still disabled the comment section on their social media. The letter ended with another apology from them. Mecimapro also thanked those who reminded them of the importance of responsibility and provided the opportunity to improve. "We will strive our best to regain your trust and provide the experience that you deserve," they wrote as a conclusion.Chaos at the DAY6 Concert in JakartaThe chaos at the DAY6 concert in Jakarta began with the announcement from Mecimapro regarding the relocation from JIS to Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Friday night, March 21, 2025. The reason for the change was that JIS was to be used for a football match. As a result, the seating layout changed, without an adjustment in ticket prices, considering that the capacity of Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium was much smaller than JIS. After protests from fans, the promoter then provided the option for a refund for those who felt aggrieved. The issue continued until two days before the event. The ticket sales platform, tiket.com, claimed that they had not received seat numbers and queues from the promoter. Ticket buyers through tiket.com were then asked to request refunds. Meanwhile, many ticket buyers through Mecimapro's official website claimed that they had not received the refund they had requested, even after the concert had ended. The peak of this problem occurred on the day of the concert. Heavy rain and strong winds poured over Jakarta as the event was about to start. Audience members who arrived early for the soundcheck were forced to wait for hours outside the stadium without adequate protection. It was suspected that there was inadequate crowd control, and most of the audience area did not have proper shelter. One of the tents used as a shelter collapsed under the weight of the rain. In several videos circulated on social media, a torn tent roof and heavy rain pouring onto the ground were visible. Other incidents also occurred, such as fallen boards due to the wind, electrical short circuits, malfunctioning DAY6 musical instruments, and complaints about expired snacks. The concert was delayed and only started at around 8:30 PM WIB.A day after the concert, JYP Entertainment issued a formal apology. The South Korean agency expressed regret for the poor coordination with Mecimapro as the local promoter. "Unfortunately, due to complications in coordinating with the local promoter and poor management in resolving the situation, inadequate response and lack of safety measures occurred during the bad weather," they wrote in X.Adinda Jasmine also contributed to the writing of this article.Editor's Choice: JYP Entertainment Apologizes for DAY6 Concert Chaos in JakartaClick here to get the latest news updates from Tempo on Google News
