Michelle Ackerley was excited to announce her pregnancy live on air after her "emotional" journey with infertility struggles. While appearing on her regular slot in the BBC's Morning Live on Tuesday 6th May, Michelle's co-host Gethin Jones introduced her as having "some news" to share. She responded: "I have actually, yes. I know I still can’t quite believe it myself, really, very, very happy… it’s just come out slowly but surely, I am four months pregnant." As the guests in the studio smiled and clapped for her, the 40-year-old presenter took her time to thank them for their congratulations. Michelle then added that she had been "waking up in the middle of the night at 3am", and nudging her husband Ryan, a former rugby coach, saying this is "what we’ve got to get used to, no sleep, so let’s have a conversation in the middle of the night". She married her husband Ben last year and recently celebrated their anniversary on Instagram. Reflecting on the last year, she wrote: "I can’t believe it’s nearly been a year since getting married and I honestly didn’t think 12 months on that I’d be writing a post sharing that I’m pregnant..." The presenter then gave a warning for her followers before sharing her pregnancy journey. She continued: "I wanted to share though as my journey with endometriosis and infertility is something I finally felt confident to start speaking about more openly last year - "Realising how many other women were going through similar experiences. Feeling part of a community - especially when it comes to women’s health can really make a difference. "Even at the very start of this year I was gearing up for yet another endo procedure and trying to come to terms with the mental & physical impact they can have. It has been quite the emotional rollercoaster. "The news of falling pregnant really came as a massive surprise to both of us. We still can’t quite believe it... And so in October, the start of a new chapter begins for @benryan7s and I, albeit with nervous and cautious excitement. "I’d like to share more about the journey on here going forward and would love for you to share with me too". Michelle's star-studded list of friends were quick to share their support, as Girls Aloud singer Kimberly Walsh wrote: "Aw this is the most amazing news! So happy for you both". Strictly Come Dancing's Montell Douglas added: "Such amazing news mama and papa come thru ... Big love to your journey" as fellow presenter Matt Baker commented: "Wonderful news sending lots of love Michelle". Morning Live airs on weekdays at 9:30am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
