Miss Rancho Bernardo, Miss Teen RB pageants set for June 1

Six young women are vying for the Miss Rancho Bernardo title, while five hope to become the next Miss Teen Rancho Bernardo.
Tickets are on sale for the pageant finals, set to begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1 in the Seven Oaks Community Center, 16789 Bernardo Oaks Drive in Rancho Bernardo. Doors will open at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25, available at tinyurl.com/MissRB25.
The 2025 titleholders, along with the first-runner up in each pageant level, will serve as community ambassadors at events in Rancho Bernardo and throughout the county during their year-long reigns.
In addition to educational scholarships, the winners will receive trophies, gift baskets, flowers, a sash and crown. There will be awards in both pageant levels for community service, fan favorite, best speech, highest GPA and Miss Photogenic. There will also be a “Top Model” award presented to one contestant, said pageant director Gianne Brintwood.
Those competing to become Miss Rancho Bernardo are:
• Bibiana Deguzman, 16, is a sophomore at Mt. Carmel High School. The daughter of Xenia and Andy Deguzman is on Mt. Carmel’s swim team and in her campus’ Red Cross, Salt & Light and Helping Hands clubs. She also enjoys videography, photography and music.
Her accomplishments have included earning all As since sixth grade, an Academic Excellence Award and recognition for her improvements in swimming the 100 breaststroke.
• Isabella Dela Cruz Smith, 16, is a sophomore at Rancho Bernardo High School. The daughter of Laura Dela Cruz and Sean Smith has been a Girl Scout since second grade and a board member of Kapwa Club, which is her school’s Filipino club. She is also in the Empowering Women in Sports Club, is on the Tour de Force varsity dance team at school and enjoys dancing, writing and reading.
Her accomplishments have included earning Silver Star Awards for earning a 4.0 GPA each quarter since freshman year, was on the homecoming court as a freshman and earned the “most improved” award on her dance team.
• Ysabel DiProfio, 17, is a junior at Rancho Bernardo High. The daughter of Erika and Michael DiProfio is captain of the junior varsity dance and competition dance teams, in Best Buddies, has acted in several plays and plays flag football.
She has also made the honor roll, won dance awards and was the 2024 Miss Rancho Bernardo First Princess. At last year’s pageant she also won the Miss Congeniality award. She has performed many hours of volunteerism as First Princess and is CPR certified.
• Taryn Moore, 16, is a junior at Rancho Bernardo High. The daughter of Patricia Ashworth and Steven Moore is a singer and member of the International Thespian Society. She has performed in several youth musical theater productions, is on the junior varsity dance and junior varsity competition dance teams at RB High, trains at Signature Dance Academy and has been selected to be a cheerleader for the 2025-26 school year.
She is also an advanced student in Scolio-Pilates, in the 2025 San Diego FBI Teen Academy and said her biggest accomplishment is “living pain free with severe scoliosis, which I attribute to hard work and deduction with my physical therapy and brace compliance.”
• Jazmin Romero, 17, is a junior at Rancho Bernardo High. The daughter of Cheryl and Mario Romero has been on the varsity dance team for three years and also dances at a private studio.
She has been selected to be the 2025-26 varsity dance team captain, has earned several dance awards and was a medalist at every solo competition this past year. She has also made the honor roll and was honored for volunteering over 100 hours during the past year.
• Ava Wang, 16, a sophomore at Mt. Carmel High School. The daughter of Ashi and Cheryl Wang is involved in volleyball, figure skating, dancing and singing. She is also a Council for Youth Empowerment delegate, in Future Civic Leaders of San Diego, the Mt. Carmel Classical Competition Choir and Filipino-American Club.
She earned the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award for completing over 100 hours of volunteer service within a calendar year.
Those hoping to be the new Miss Teen RB are:
• Felicia Farrell French, 14, is an eighth-grader at Black Mountain Middle School. The daughter of Katy Farrell and Bill French is on the Step by Step Elite Dance Team, has performed in ensemble and lead roles in musicals with Music Pillars and Scripps Theatre Arts, and is in the AVID college and career readiness program.
Her accomplishments include earning AVID awards, earning her Red Cross babysitting basics certificate, an Exceptional Seagull Award and Breakfast of Champions Award in humanities at her school.
• Hannah Ng, 15, is a freshman at Rancho Bernardo High. The daughter of Michele and Ming Ng is in color guard, runs sprints in track, in Best Buddies Club, Artzines for Charity, has interned at Arthaus art school, tutors and is a junior leader at her church.
Her accomplishments have included winning first place at the SCSBPA Championships 6A Division in 2024. She is also interested in architecture, romantic and chamber classical music, exterior design and the Marvel universe.
• Maria Romero, 16, is a sophomore at Poway High School. The daughter of Jose Romero and Fabiola Martinez has been on her school’s soccer team for two years, where she is goalkeeper, she volunteers at elementary schools and on her campus, and is involved with her church.
Her accomplishments included earning “Player of the Match” honors in soccer both years on her team. She also enjoys baking and working with animals.
• Claire Shin, 16, is a sophomore at Mt. Carmel High. The daughter of Sarah (Soyoung) Shin and Charlie (Jongseok) Shin is on Mt. Carmel’s Sideline Cheer team, the social media manager for Red Cross Club, involved with tumbling and active at her church. She went on a Panama mission trip last year, has been on her church’s Mexico Youth Outreach mission team for three years and taken art classes for a decade.
Her accomplishments include earning a 4.4 GPA, making the honor roll, earning a Sundevil Standout award in math, earning a Scholastic Arts and Writing Silver Key in 2023 and a Del Mar Fair Art Gallery Best of Class honor in 2024.
• Jovanna Windsor, 15, is a freshman at Del Norte High. The daughter of Colleen and Erik Windsor is on the junior varsity cheer team, coaches cheer for Rancho Bernardo Pop Warner, in Best Buddies and National Charity League, where she is the 2024-25 engagement and inclusion officer.
Her accomplishments include earning an AVID award for earning a 3.5 or higher GPA, an award from the National Cheer Association; and honors through the JAMZ National Cheer Competition. She also volunteers, snowboards, wakeboards and bakes.
