Whit Merrifield, a three-time All-Star over parts of nine major league seasons, announced his retirement on Tuesday via his agency.The former Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves utility player did not have a contract for 2025."You all should know that I decided a while back to retire," Merrifield said in a statement released by his agents at Warner Sports.More to come on this story from Newsweek Sports.
