TOKYO, Japan -- The 2025 MLB season begins early Tuesday morning in Tokyo, when the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the two-game Tokyo Series. First pitch is at 6:10 a.m. Eastern, with FOX televising the game.
If you don’t have cable, you can still watch the game. Several streaming services will broadcast the game live, and you can watch on Fubo (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial) and Sling (promotional offers).
The Dodgers are coming off their second World Series win in the 2020s and loaded up even further in the offseason, signing veteran pitcher Blake Snell and star Japanese pitching prospect Roki Sasaki. They also boast the reigning National League MVP in Shohei Ohtani.
The Cubs had a quieter offseason, but they also made some notable moves, including acquiring outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Astros and trading away Cody Bellinger.
The starting pitching matchup features two Japanese-born MLB stars, as the Dodgers will start Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Cubs will have Shota Imanaga on the mound.
