Moni Plus backs Rosso Cup Mountain Bike Race/Lae Festival event

MONI Plus have renewed its support for the Rosso Cup Mountain Bike Race/Lae Festival event with a cheque for K16,500, strengthening their three-year commitment to youth development and community events in Morobe Province. The institution made the presentation at the Lae District Office on Monday 2, to representatives from the Lae City Authority and the Rosso Mountain Bike Committee. Moni Plus Relationship Officer, Andrew Sipisong said the company values people and the community, and its corporate social responsibility (CSR) continues to invest in activities that promotes healthy lifestyle and community participation. “This morning, we are excited to announce the renewal of our silver sponsorship, for 2025. Our sponsorship is more of an investment in the future of our youth, especially young riders. We want to promote a healthy lifestyle, community engagement and the spirit of adventure,” Mr Sipisong said. Apart from cash sponsorship, Moni Plus also provided 50 T-Shirts and 50 water bottles for young riders as part of the corporate package arranged by the event organisers. Since 2023, Moni Plus has supported both the Lae Festival and Rosso Mountain Bike Race with a total investment of nearly K50,000. The company has also supported a wide range of sports and community events, including volleyball, rugby, AFL, softball, basketball, netball, tennis, and various corporate functions. Lae City Authority Acting Manager for Economic Services and Tourism, Maine Winny acknowledged the continued support, noting that the Rosso Mountain Bike event has grown significantly, with more than 500 riders and 17 bike clubs registered so far. He added that the event expects more than 1000 riders to take part in this year’s event. “This is the first time we are working directly with bike clubs in Lae to help them take ownership of the event,” he said.
