GREAT BARRINGTON — Monument Mountain has hired Brian Jarvis as its new girls varsity soccer head coach.
Jarvis is a Lee resident and has been a figure in Western Massachusetts soccer for over two decades. He spent 11 years as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach for Ludlow. On the staff as the Lions won four MIAA Division I State Championships. He was also head coach at Springfield Technical Community College and coached youth programs with the Western Mass Juniors and Ludlow Youth Soccer Association.
“Coach Jarvis is exactly the kind of leader we want shaping our athletic culture,” wrote Monument Mountain athletic director Karl Zigmand in a release. “His ability to connect with players and elevate their game — both athletically and personally — will be a tremendous asset.”
Jarvis said in the same statement, “I’m honored to lead the Girls Soccer Program at Monument Mountain. I believe in building teams that value hard work, respect and personal growth just as much as winning games.”
Monument went to the PVIAC Western Mass. Class B Semifinals and the D-IV First Round this year.
