MPT DriveHub, the travel companion app of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), has officially launched the MPT DriveHub Cycling Team in time for the much-anticipated return of the Tour of Luzon 2025. In partnership with Huawei Philippines, the team features some of the most decorated cyclists from Luzon and Cebu, uniting top talent under one banner.The newly formed team is led by legendary coach Santi Barnachea of Pangasinan, a decorated cyclist with over 20 years of experience and a series of national tour wins, including Ronda Pilipinas. “Cycling teaches you resilience,” says Barnachea. “Every ride is a test of your will, but when you have the right support, the road feels a little more possible. That’s what this team is about: pushing forward together.”Heading the roster is team captain Mervin Corpuz of Pangasinan, a veteran of both local and international races, including podium finishes at the Tour of Thailand and Ronda Pilipinas. Alongside him is national time trial champion Rustom Lim of Nueva Ecija, SEA Games multi-medalist and Tour de Singkarak contender.The powerhouse lineup continues with Jonel Carcueva, also from Nueva Ecija, a three-time national champion (2022–2024), and Junreck Carcueba of Cebu, known for criterium wins and long-distance tour successes. Rising stars Mark Joseph Lobiano and Khyll Lequin, both hailing from Cebu, bring fresh energy to the team, while rookie sensation Riener Lim of Nueva Ecija — who won a national time trial title in his first year — adds youth and promise.The MPT DriveHub Cycling Team is not just about medals, but also about promoting progress and safe journeys.
