Came in from the east through Spokane. The ash on the ground started almost at the border. As we progressed west for miles and miles the wheat fields were completely grey with ash. A few months later I went down I-5 to California. The Toutle river was just a solid mass of ash and logs. Around 2000 I went down to the mountain. She let them in and they were stuck for several days because of the ash.
