Tributes have been paid to a mum-of-three who is said to have died after she was struck by a van while playing golf. Suzanne Cherry was named by police on Sunday, April 20, following the incident on April 11 at Aston Wood Golf Club in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. She was rushed to hospital after suffering serious injuries , but tragically died on Tuesday. It is understood the van was the subject of a police pursuit . Three men have since been arrested as Ms Cherry has been fondly remembered by neighbours and friends from the golfing community. Police have since said in a statement: "Officers from West Midlands Police arrested three men on Wednesday, April 16. "A 51-year-old man, from Bloxwich, was arrested on suspicion of murder, a 22-year-old man, from Dudley, on suspicion of manslaughter and assisting an offender and a 41-year-old man, from Worcester, on suspicion of assisting an offender. "They are being questioned by detectives in custody in Staffordshire. We are continuing to search for a man that was seen leaving Aston Wood Golf Club, on Blake Street, on foot after the collision." Ms Cherry was playing golf with her husband when tragedy struck. She was airlifted to hospital , where she sadly passed away, the Mirror reports . Speaking to MailOnline, a neighbour paid tribute to her: "She was a much-loved friend and neighbour. What happened was just appalling. She was playing golf with her husband . He saw it all happen and is a broken man." A second neighbour added: "Going to play the game you love on a beautiful day and then that happens. It is beyond comprehension. Why would anyone be driving a van up that bank and onto a golf course. It’s insanity." Speaking on behalf of members, directors and staff, the golf club offered condolences in their own statement. They said: "Our thoughts also go out to our neighbours, their staff and friends at Aston Wood, this was a tragic and very sad occurrence which should not happen anywhere, let alone on the tranquil environment of a golf course." Ms Cherry's devastated husband , who lived with her in the West Midlands town of Aldridge, was too upset to comment. Staffordshire Police said officers have been establishing a timeline of events following the collision, and trawling footage collected from the scene and sent in by the public responding to appeals. A force spokesperson emphasised the appeal to come forward with relevant information, in particular private camera footage . They said: "If you have any dashcam, CCTV , doorbell footage or if you were in the area of Blake Street and Birmingham Road between Sutton Coldfield and Shenstone at approximately 10.25am on Friday please get in touch. "The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the circumstances prior to the collision when officers from West Midlands Police had responded to the vehicle being involved in reports of suspicious activity."
