A mum has shared how she has lost seven stones from weight loss jabs in just one year, after cutting out takeaways. Ashley Nickson, 35, said she "couldn't be happier" about her choice, despite bullies claiming she has "Mounjaro face," which has aged her by 15 years. The mum-of-two from Rainhill, Merseyside put on weight following the birth of her children; Mally, six and Charlie, two, weighing 17st 10lbs before looking into the weight loss jabs. Ashley confessed her "unhealthy habits," which included consistent snacking and takeaways that would often set her back more than £400 per month, contributed to her problem, but added her lifestyle had "made parenting easier." The weight loss injections are priced at £136 per month, and Ashley has no regrets whatsoever with her decision to start taking it, stating she "couldn't be happier with the results," the Liverpool Echo reported. Only a year after starting her journey with the drug, she now weighs 10 stones, almost eight stones less than the weight she was before starting Mounjouro. Ashley has documented her weight loss on TikTok, with the mum explaining that buying the weight loss jabs was "one of the best decisions I've made." The Tesco staff member said: "My weight was my biggest battle. Trolls may say I have gained years - but I actually have. "I've got much more of my life to live now, thanks to Mounjaro. I feel a lot more confident in myself and I'm proud of my journey. "I'd rather people say I've aged rather than being unhappy and unhealthy. The jab was one of the best decisions I've made." Discussing her weight pre-Monjouro, Ashley said her busy life with two young children had meant she "struggled" to find the time to cook or spend time on herself. She said between pick up and drop off times at school, she would treat herself to a takeaway - at least three times a week. Ashley explained: "I wasn't always big. But becoming a mother meant I had to cut corners, so it just became routine. "Every week, I would go to Costa or McDonald's to eat. I didn't have time to go to the gym or work on myself. "At home, I would pick off my kids' plates when I made them dinner and I was just ashamed." An old photo of her triggered her decision to make a change, purchasing the Mounjaro from private company, VOS. She said she was "very nervous" after administering her first 2.5mg dose, adding she wasn't sure anything was happening after the drug had been taken, to begin with. Ashley continued: "But nothing happened for the first two weeks apart from waking up with dry mouth and slight nausea. "I thought it was a placebo, but then I started to feel less hungry. And that's when the weight started to come off." The jab meant the mum was less hungry, and within just three weeks she had lost over a stone after cutting out takeaway meals, opting for Hello Fresh food boxes instead. "It made my weight loss journey a lot easier, and I took it more seriously. At this point, I had stopped snacking completely." Ashley went on to refer three people per month for the injections at this time, meaning she managed to nab four months of Mounjaro for completely free. But, her journey was not without difficulty, with trolls consistently giving their opinions on her online. The mum said: "A lot of my fat was in my face. So when I lost weight, it left me with some loose skin around my cheeks and under my eyes. "People would comment that I didn't look like my age and that I looked unwell." Ashley has hit back at trolls, claiming she "doesn't care" about what they have to say about her face, adding "I can always get Botox." She continued: "I may look older, but I've probably added 10 or 12 years onto my life. "And I've definitely saved money by ditching takeaways." Ashley is sure she will not return to her behaviour before taking Mounjouro, even though she occasionally has cravings for treats. Since showing off her journey online, Ashley has become an advocate for the jabs, describing how "confident" it has made her. She said: "If people saw me in real life, they wouldn't be saying that I look older. "And I'm extremely confident with the way I look now. I would recommend the jab to anyone who is struggling with their weight. "It has saved my life and I can be there more for my family now."
