A Namibian delegation has traveled to Germany to formalize the extension of a longstanding partnership for the Youth Sport Exchange Programme.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) renewal between the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture and the Fussball-Und Leichtathletik Verband Westfalen E.V. marks the continuation of a 30-year collaboration that began in 1995.
The partnership fosters cross-cultural exchange, sports development, and youth empowerment between the two countries and includes a school twinning program.
Over the past three decades, the program has been instrumental in nurturing notable Namibian sports talent, including well-known figures like Razundara Tjikuzu and Colin Benjamin.
The Namibian delegation comprises: Mr. Gerard Norman Vries, Executive Director, Mr. Irvine Ndjavera, Deputy Director: School Sports, Mr. Roger Kambatuku, Senior Sport Officer, Ms. Ayesha Wentworth, Director: Programmes and Quality Assurance and Ms. Levinia Karises, Director: Finance
The Youth Sport Exchange Programme has, over the decades, provided young athletes with international exposure, advanced training opportunities, and intercultural learning experiences. The renewed agreement reaffirms the commitment of both parties to continue investing in youth development through sport and education.
