Australia-based Iosefo Namoce has signed a two-year deal with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua ahead of next season’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.
The 23-year-old was named Suva Rugby Union’s Rookie of the Year in 2023. He hails from Nakama in Macuata with maternal links to Vuna in Taveuni.
The former Queen Victoria School (QVS) student played for Suva in the Skipper Cup competition for the past two seasons before moving to Canberra, Australia, this year.
He has been starring for Gungahlin Eagles in the Dent Cup competition in Canberra, where they are administered by Brumbies Rugby.
Namoce who plays at centre is to replace Iosefo Masi who has moved on to join Lyon in the French Top 14 competition.
Also, speculation is rife that former Melbourne Rebels lock Angelo Smith could be joining the Drua as well.
The 24-year-old had signed with the NSW Waratahs last year after the Rebels became defunct but did not play in the season’s Super Rugby competition.
The Lautoka-born forward stands at 1.99m with 20 Super Rugby matches under his belt.
