Addressing his country for the first time, Modi said India had only suspended military action against its neighbour, adding that New Delhi ‘will measure every step of Pakistan’ and respond in kind. Modi was speaking days after the nuclear-armed neighbours initiated armed action against one another, exchanging missiles and airstrikes.
