Teams to watch After finishing runner-up four times, LSU finally captured the national championship last season. The storybook ending was delivered behind the sensational performance of all-around winner Haleigh Bryant and a historic beam rotation where the Tigers captured the highest collective mark (49.7625) in NCAA gymnastics championship history. Bryant chose to return for her fifth year, forming a stacked core with Aleah Finnegan, Konnor McClain and dazzling freshman Kaitlyn Chio. The top-seeded Tigers finished the season ranked in the top five in all six events and have lost only twice this season. Those blemishes came at the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, finishing second behind Oklahoma and to Arkansas on the road. LSU has not suffered defeat since Jan. 24. LSU earned its highest score ever at the 2025 SEC championships, tallying a 198.200 and capturing their sixth conference title. LSU fifth-year senior and social media influencer Livvy Dunne has not competed in nearly two months with a fracture in her kneecap. Oklahoma won the title in 2022-23 and will look to reclaim the throne. They are teetering on dynasty status with six titles in the last 10 years. An opening rotation vault nightmare derailed those repeat chances last year and ousted them into their earliest exit since 2012. But the Sooners are back and ready to atone for last year’s demise. The Sooners are guided by Jordan Bowers, Faith Torrez and Audrey Davis. Oklahoma ripped through the regular season but finished second in the SEC championships to LSU and lost a regular season bout with the Tigers. Bowers earned three perfect scores on vault, bars and floor. The Sooners tout the highest season average score with 197.908. Momentum is on their side as Oklahoma’s 198.450 Washington regional final was the top score across all regions. All-around gymnasts to watch Jade Carey, Oregon State, Sr. Carey is a three-time Olympic medalist who is coming off a historic season where she ranked No. 1 in all-around and beam. She was captured the all-around crown at every meet this season. Carey is a four-time NCAA runner-up. Will she finally reach the individual pinnacle of gymnastics? Haleigh Bryant, LSU, Sr. Bryant is the defending all-around champion after her remarkable performance last season. She also captured the 2021 NCAA championship on vault. The decorated gymnast will look to etch her name even deeper into Tigers lore on the grand stage. Jordan Chiles, UCLA, Jr. This 4-foot-11 firecracker has potential to steal the show. She is a 2024 Olympic gold and bronze medalist and a 2020 silver medalist. Chiles also captured the 2023 NCAA uneven bars and floor exercise crown. She skipped the 2024 NCAA season to train for the Olympics. Is Livvy Dunne competing in the 2025 NCAA gymnastics championships today? No, Dunne is not expected to compete in the NCAA gymnastics championships. The fifth-year senior and social media influencer remains sidelined with a fracture in her kneecap. She last competed on Jan. 24 against Arkansas.
