Following Nigeria's disappointing performance against Zimbabwe in a 2026 World Cup qualifier, Super Eagles defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi found himself in the crosshairs of a frustrated fan.

Ndidi had been a standout performer in the midfield, controlling the game’s tempo and breaking up Zimbabwe’s attacks.
However, his efforts were overshadowed by a glaring missed opportunity to put Nigeria 2-0 up after Victor Osimhen’s hard-fought opening goal.
The Leicester City star failed to convert a golden chance, a moment that came back to haunt the team when Zimbabwe struck late to equalise and snatch a vital point.
Incensed by the result, the fan messaged Ndidi directly on Snapchat, blasting the 28-year-old with harsh words: “Nonsense Ndidi, nothing you sabi play.”
Unfazed, Ndidi chose to respond with humility rather than hostility.
“Make una no vex for goal I miss,” he wrote back, acknowledging his error. “No body perfect for him job,” he added, offering an honest take on his performance and appealing for understanding.
The exchange has since sparked mixed reactions among Nigerian football fans, with some praising Ndidi’s accountability and others still fuming over the costly miss that derailed the Super Eagles’ qualification hopes.
As Nigeria’s campaign for the 2026 World Cup continues, Ndidi and his teammates will look to bounce back from this setback and silence their critics on the pitch.
The team is expected to play friendly matches in the next window in June before the World Cup qualifiers resume in September.
