The trailer of the much-anticipated Tamil film Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK) has been unveiled by the makers today (February 10). The film marks Dhanush’s third directorial after Pa Paandi (2017) and Raayan (2024). Billed to be a coming-of-age love story, NEEK stars Priya Prakash Varrier, Anikha Surendran and Pavish in the lead. Sarathkumar, Mathew Thomas, Rabiya Khatoon, Ramya Ranganathan and Venkatesh Menon are a part of the project as well. Dhanush has co-produced NEEK alongside Kasthoori Raj and Vijayalakshmi Kasthoori Raja. under the banner of Wunderbar Films. The trailer opens to Dhanush sitting atop a traffic light signal sipping a beverage with his signature swag. A heart-shaped green light is displayed on the signal as the actor calls the film a “usual” love story. Pavish slips into the shoes of a chef but his reputation is limited to being a cook as everyone around him fails to differentiate between the two. Pavish falls in love with Priya Prakash Varrier’s character in the film. The twist comes when Pavish’s former girlfriend, played by Anikha is set to get married to another man. The trailer hints that the duo met each other at a party. But Anikha’s father (Sarathkumar) is against their marriage as is evident from certain glimpses. As Anikha’s wedding date approaches and Pavish attends the celebrations, he is gripped by jealousy. Infused with upbeat songs, dance numbers and emotional sequences, NEEK promises to be an entertaining watch. A day before NEEK’s trailer release, filmmaker Mari Selvaraj heaped praise on the film. Sharing the movie’s poster on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote “Yesss! I watched NEEK and I have to say that after a really long time, I got to watch this ‘Usual Love Story’ Yet I was exhilarated by every bit of this world that Dhanush sir had created!
