LIV Golf Adelaide ended with Joaquin Niemann's third victory on the circuit and several memorable moments, including Patrick Reed's ace at The Grange Golf Club's Watering Hole. But the event also served as a stage to shed light on the future of Greg Norman.LIV Golf's newly appointed CEO, Scott O'Neil, spoke on the subject from the Adelaide venue. He confirmed that Norman will remain associated with the league as a board member, although he did not mention his specific role. But even with Norman remaining a part of the Saudi-funded league, that does not mean he is thrilled about being replaced."We just had a board meeting last week," O'Neil said from Adelaide. "We can tap into his experience, his leadership, his friendship. And he challenges too. At the board meeting I was hoping for a friendly face on the other side of the table, but he mixes it up pretty good."However, O'Neil also expressed his admiration for Norman, who was fired as CEO of LIV Golf a month ago."I spent quite a bit of time with him in my lead up to this role and every day since engaging, asking questions and learning, and I hope that he is part of LIV forever.""If you're smart and humble and earnest enough, you spend quite a bit of time with your predecessor. Mine just happens to be one of the greatest golfers of all time, of which I am not, sadly. Nonetheless, Greg is an icon. He is a friend. He is the reason I'm here today."Norman was at the helm of LIV Golf from the inaugural 2022 season through the end of 2024, overseeing the creation and initial development of the league. Under his leadership, all of today's top stars joined the circuit, including Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, Phil Mickelson and others. He also took the league to numerous countries outside the United States, including Mexico, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.Since being replaced as CEO of LIV Golf, Norman has addressed the topic of his future on several occasions. He has reiterated his interest in remaining involved with the league, but has also said that he will begin to devote more attention to golf course design, an activity in which he has excelled in the past.It was also recently announced that Norman will be helping to organize the 2032 Olympic Games, which will be held in Brisbane, the capital of Norman's home state of Queensland.More Golf: LPGA Legend Doubles Down on Slow Play 'Brutal Consequences
