BACKGROUND Evergreen FC was founded in 1946 as an amateur soccer club run on a voluntary basis to serve the Kilkenny City community. In 2000, the club purchased 4.2 Hectares (10.3 acres) of land at Dundaryark on the Kells Road, approximately 5km from the existing city ring road. The lands have since been used to construct two grass soccer pitches and two floodlit artificial turf pitches with dressing rooms in the form of temporary containers, a temporary equipment storage shed and car park.
