Health Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said the ministry has written its protocol to vaccinate children who are between the ages of 12-17.
“I do know that we have solid plans for vaccinating those from 12-15 (years),” he said.
“In fact, we have written up all our protocol for the Pfizer rollout and so we are confident that once we continue to vaccinate more than those who are hesitant, they get protection out of it anyway.
“Apart from that, there has been an escalation in the COVID care plans.
“The COVID care plans have been one of the most interesting parts of this journey for most of us in the medical service because we have refined those COVID care plans to be able to get in touch early with those in need.”
Dr Fong said when more people get vaccinated, they help to protect those who are less vaccinated or unvaccinated.
“There is protection there. I am quite impressed with our escalation on our deployment plan between the ages of 15-17.
“We’ve had a huge proportion of those between 15-17 vaccinated.”
