Weather watch: Heavy rain warning remains in force

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group and is now canceled for Vanua Levu.
A heavy rain alert remains in force for Northern Lau group.
The Meteorological Office says a trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the west of the group.
“Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect parts of the Fiji group till later today.”
Forecast for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and southern Lau group is for occasional rain with isolated heavy falls and few thunderstorms.
The Northern Lau group can expect some showers and isolated thunderstorms with showers possibly becoming frequent and gradually increasing to rain from tonight.
Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
