Uncapped Indian fast bowler Vaibhav Arora is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025. He has featured in nine matches so far for the defending champions and has accounted for the dismissal of 12 batters, which is second most for the franchise. During a recent interview with news agency ANI on Friday, the 27-year-old cricketer, who represents Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket, reserved big praise for legendary West Indies spin bowling all-rounder Sunil Narine by saying that the 36-year-old star is the most important player for the Kolkata-based franchise. Narine has been associated with KKR since 2012 and is the most capped player in the world’s richest franchise cricket league for the Shah Rukh Khan-owned side. In KKR’s last league match against Delhi Capitals on April 29, he dismissed three DC batters at Arun Jaitley Stadium to seal a memorable win by 14 runs for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side. According to Vaibhav, Narine is the MVP (Most Valuable Player), and if he manages to maintain his form in the upcoming matches, then KKR will win and qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. “I will tell you that he (Sunil Narine) is the most important player for us, the pure MVP. For example, you take batting, bowling, and fielding, and in the last match, you take captaincy. So, he is a pure all-rounder. He is a perfect bowler. He is one of the best bowlers and one of the best batsmen in the team. So, you are getting so much in the player, and he is the best player. In the last match, we won against DC. He bowled, batted, fielded, ran out, and also took captaincy. So, his role will be very important in the upcoming matches as well because he contributes to the team from both sides. So, if his form remains the same in the next matches, then we will definitely win,” Vaibhav was quoted as saying by ANI. In the DC-KKR match, Narine took the leadership responsibility after Rahane left the field due to an injury, and during his short stint, he impressed everyone with his decision-making. In the ongoing season of the IPL, Narine has played nine league matches for KKR and has scored 178 runs (third most) in addition to dismissing 10 batters (fourth most).
