Novak Djokovic has confirmed his coaching partnership with Andy Murray has come to an end, two weeks before the start of the French Open. The 24-time Grand Slam champion announced at the end of last year that Murray would be joining his team in a shock move, and they worked together for the first time in Australia at the start of the season. Djokovic had suggested that he hoped to work with Murray through to the French Open and Wimbledon, but he has struggled for form in recent weeks and the decision has been made to part ways ahead of the action starting at Roland Garros on May 25. "Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over last six months on and off the court. Really enjoyed deepening our friendship together," Djokovic said in a statement. Murray added: “Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months. “I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season.” It means Murray will not be in Djokovic’s box later this summer when the Serbian attempts to win a seventh Wimbledon title. Djokovic reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open, retiring from his match against Alexander Zverev, and made it to the final of the Miami Open, where he was beaten by Jakub Mensik. It has otherwise been a poor season for the 37-year-old, who fell to a first-round exit at the Qatar Open and Indian Wells, and has since lost his opening matches in both Monte Carlo and Madrid. Having not won a match on clay this year, Djokovic has accepted a wildcard into the Geneva Open next week in a final attempt to find some form before he arrives at Roland Garros.
