Novak Djokovic took to Instagram and reacted to Virat Kohli's post following his victory in the 2025 Wimbledon pre-quarterfinal on Monday (July 7) against Australia's Alex de Minaur at the centre court in a four-set thriller as he continues his battle to win a historic 25th major title. Kohli was present in the stands as he made a public appearance for the first time post-Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) victory in the 2025 Wimbledon. The star cricketer attended the match with his wife Anushka Sharma. He took to Instagram and posted a picture of Djokovic in action and lavished praise on him while labelling him a 'gladiator.' "What a win! It was business as usual for the gladiator," wrote Kohli on Instagram in a story. Djokovic took notice of the Indian cricket legend's praise for him and shared a story while re-posting Kohli's post. "Thank you for supporting," wrote Djokovic. Kohli and Djokovic revealed during the 2024 Australian Open that they have developed a friendship while chatting with each other on Instagram and sharing a few messages. The Indian cricket legend revealed that the duo have since stayed in a chat. Djokovic had shared a special post for Kohli after he completed his 50th century in ODI cricket and broke Sachin Tendulkar's record. Earlier this month, the Serbian also put a special wish for the ex-Indian captain after he announced his retirement from Test cricket. Talking about Djokovic, he will face Italy's Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-final on Wednesday (July 9). The 24-time Grand Slam winner is looking for a historic eighth title, which will see him go level with Roger Federer's tally for the most men's singles title at Wimbledon. The most decorated male player in Tennis Grand Slam history, Djokovic has not won a major title for more than two years. His last triumph came at the 2023 French Open. The 38-year-old lost the final at Wimbledon in 2023 and 2024 to Carlos Alcaraz.
