SOGO Rangers secured a decisive six-wicket victory against Takashinga 1 in a 2025 National Premier League match held at the Old Hararians Sports Club on Saturday.
Winning the toss, Rangers chose to field first. Takashinga 1 posted a total of 247 runs, losing all their wickets in 42.1 overs. Takashinga 1’s innings was anchored by Timycen Maruma, who top-scored with 61 runs off 77 balls. Hamilton Masakadza also made a rapid 36 runs off just 29 balls. The star bowler for SOGO Rangers was Daniel Jackiel, who took /41 runs in his seven overs.
In response, Rangers chased down the target, reaching 248-4 in 36.2 overs. Brian Bennett led the charge with an impressive 81 runs from 85 deliveries, while Jonathan Campbell remained not out on 48 runs. Kundai Matigimu was the most effective bowler for Takashinga 1, claiming three wickets for 47 runs.
Takashinga 1 are yet to beat Rangers in NPL history.

Methane Lions clinched a dominant seven-wicket win against Chiredzi Cricket Club in the first ever match at the Triangle Country Club .
Chiredzi won the toss and elected to bat first. They were bowled out for 181 runs in 38 overs. Tendai Chisoro led the runs with 75 runs off 72 balls, including four fours and six sixes. Blessed Muzite contributed 22 runs off 35 balls , while Calvin Mubvute added 20 runs from 40 balls. For the Methane Lions, Allen Mhuka was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for 49 runs. Tatenda Utumbe and Tawanda Damiso also performed well, each taking two wickets.
In their chase, Methane Lions’ batsmen made quick work of the target, reaching 183 for three wickets in 38.5 overs. Tadiwa Gosho top-scored with 53 runs off 94 balls , and Blessing Mutenda added 38 runs from 70 deliveries. The innings was sealed by not-out scores from Jimmy Nyangoni (32 runs) and Kudakwashe Munyede (27 runs). Chiredzi’s bowlers struggled to make an impact, with Tendai Chisoro and captain Sabudu Seva each taking a single wicket.
Amakhosi 1 Cricket Club: 220 in 41.1 overs (Tawanda Maposa 67, Frank Mwazviita 4/42, Jackson Makalichi 2/28, Vincent Masekesa 2/40, Shane Muchenje 2/54)
Westside Cricket Club: 195 in 44.1 overs (Kian Arnold 71; Dumoluhle Dube 5/38, Nawel Mutumwa 3/27)
Result: Amakhosi 1 Cricket Club won by 25 runs.
Amakhosi 1 Cricket Club secured a hard-fought 25-run victory over Westside Cricket Club at the Masvingo Sports Club.
Westside won the toss and elected to field. Amakhosi 1 posted a total of 220 runs before being bowled out in 41.1 overs. Tawanda Maposa was the top scorer with 67 runs from 57 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. Captain Ernest Masuku added 32 runs, while Bright Phiri and Tafara Mupariwa contributed 15 and 13 runs, respectively. Frank Mwazviita was the best bowler for Westside, taking four wickets for 42 runs. Shane Muchenje, Vincent Masekesa and Jackson Makalichi also took two wickets each.
Westside fel short, ending their innings with 195 runs in 44.1 overs. Kian Arnold was the standout batsman, scoring 71 runs off 65 balls, with six fours and two sxess. Tinashe Chiorah added 22 runs and Muhammad Zaheer Tufail scored 25. Amakhosi 1’s bowlers performed exceptionally well, with Dumoluhle Dube taking an impressive five wickets for just 38 runs. Zimbabwe U19 youngester Nawej Mutumwa claimed three wickets for 27 runs.
Rimuka Cricket Club: 274-9 in 45.0 Ov (Villan Changa 57, Davis Murwendo 55; Forgive Mwembe 4/39 runs)
Amakhosi 2 Cricket Club: 8 in 20.1 Ov (Vitalis Buwu 29; Brandon Mavuta 5/16, Davis Murwendo 3/16 ).
Result: Rimuka Cricket Club won by 189 runs.
Rimuka Cricket Club secured a massive 189-run victory over Amakhosi 2 Cricket Club at the Kadoma Sports Club.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Rimuka posted an imposing 274-9 in their 45 overs. Key performances came from Villan Changa, who top-scored with 57 runs from 65 balls, and Davis Murwendo, who smashed a rapid 55 runs off just 24 deliveries. Tashinga Musekiwa also contributed significantly with 42 runs. Amakhosi 2’s best bowler was Forgive Mwembe, who took 4/39.
In response, Amakhosi 2’s innings never got going and they were bowled out for a mere 85 runs in 20.1 overs. Vitalis Buwu was the only batsman to show some resistance, scoring 29 runs off 28 balls. The destruction was led by Rimuka Cricket Club’s captain Brandon Mavuta, who took a superb five wickets for only 16 runs. He was well-supported by Davis Murwendo, who completed a fantastic all-around performance by taking three wickets for 16 runs
