Hetherington crashes through to put Brisbane in front
After a quiet start it’s all action now, with Brisbane bench forward Kobe Hetherington taking an inside ball from Adam Reynolds and bursting into a gap, bumping off a couple of Eels defenders and crashing over for his team’s second try of the night.
The Broncos have the lead for the first time in this contest.

Adam Reynolds goes long as Broncos hit back
And now the Broncos are back, Adam Reynolds snatching an intercept and running 70 metres to just beat the chasing Eels defenders to the tryline.
That’s not usually the go for the 35-year-old halfback, but great effort to run the distance.
With Reynolds off catching his breath, Reece Walsh steps up to slot the conversion and it’s all square once more.

Sean Russell produces magic try
Sean Russell opens up the game with a bit of rugby league magic, the Eels centre regathering an attacking kick then putting up an audacious chip and chase close to score himself. Brilliant stuff.
The underdogs lead by six and are well and truly in with a shout here, though it’s still very much early stages.

Another penalty goal as Broncos square it up
It’s all very conservative so far in this one, with Brisbane receiving a penalty when Josh Addo-Carr obstructs the chasing Kotoni Staggs after Josh Reynolds puts up a bomb – and the Broncos opt to take a shot at goal.
Reynolds cancells out Zac Lomax’s earlier effort and it’s all square again.

Lomax penalty goal opens the scoring
Good completion rates from both teams in the early stages – the Broncos have been perfect, the Eels have completed all but one set so far – with both teams keeping things simple in a bid to avoid errors.
But Parramatta gets the chance to open the scoring when Brisbane prop Xavier Willison is penalised for diving at the legs in a tackle, with Zac Lomax taking a shot from 40 metres out.
He makes no mistake, and the visitors are in front early.

Eels young gun shows flair, Lomax bundled into touch
He’s been named at fullback tonight and Joash Papalii has shown some of the tackle-busting prowess that has made him one of the most promising youngsters in the game, sidestepping and shaking off a couple of would-be tacklers as the Broncos give away the first penalty of the game.
It puts Parramatta on the attack inside Brisbane’s 20, but winger Zac Lomax is picked up and carried over the sideline on the right flank.
0-0 after four minutes
Kick-off in Brisbane as Cowboys hold on to pip Dragons
It’s finished 38-32 in Townsville with the Cowboys holding on in the end, with the Dragons on the attack in the final moments but unable to find a try.
We’ll have a full match report (and highlights) from that game shortly.
And now they’re ready to roll in Brisbane, with Payne Haas a big in for the home side and Mitch Moses back for Parra.

RLPA’s concerns over rugby league video game
NRLW players have complained about their appearance in a new-NRL endorsed rugby league video game, with the players’ union raising concerns about its rollout.
The keenly anticipated release of the Rugby League 26 game 10 days ago has been followed by a barrage of complaints by users over the game’s quality and accuracy.
NRLW players Millie Elliott and Kennedy Cherrington have also publicly criticised the likeness of female players in the game after issues around the scanning process used to capture facial features in production.
Sources speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter claim that most of the issues with players’ likeness stem from those who were not available to be scanned when developers attended various clubs.

Cowboys stretch clear with late double
That close Cowboys-Dragons game isn’t so close anymore, North Queensland running in two quick tries – including one long-range effort to Jaxon Purdue off a kick-off – to stretch out to a 38-26 lead.
There’s four minutes left, and it’s hard to see St George Illawarra stealing a win here.
