Try: Doueihi sets up Tigers first
Tigers now with a shot. Some big defence before Viliame Kikau concedes a downtown penalty, he was out of play - in front of the play-the-ball - then got involved. Big no no.
Adam Doueihi threatening at first-receiver. He shrugs off a rushing defence and gets in behind the ruck. Great gear. Gets an offload away. It’s shuffled wide and Jeral Shelton is over in the corner. First blow to the Tigers. And from the sideline, Doueihi slots it. Phenomenal kick.

Luai sprays Galvin after penalty
Canterbury on the attack courtesy of a Terell May penalty and Galvin grubbers on the last. Jahream Bula waits an age to shepherd it over the deadball line.
It was a good kick, but good call from Bula. It dribbles over the line for a seven-tackle Tigers set. They waste it though, awful play-the-ball by Jeral Skelton and Bulldogs will be on the attack again.

Skelton redeems himself hanging onto the Canterbury attacking kick. Proper mud pie areas already at Commbank Stadium. Galvin gives up a penalty taking Luai down and cops a spray for his troubles.

Kick-off: Bunker denies two Dogs tries
And we are underway, wet weather footy, drink it in. Not literally of course. But Canterbury kick it off and Terrell May coughs up possession on the very first play. Puddles everywhere. Stephen Crichton slides over the tryline in Canterbury’s first set - Tigers did enough to hold him up and it’s a play-the-ball.

Luke Lewis on ABC Radio reporting a punter in Tigers kit was on the field giving Galvin a gobful as he ran out. End of the Bulldogs first set, Bronson Xerri rolls a grubber into the in-goal for a repeat set. The Bulldogs cross again, but Jacob Kiraz’s pass to Enari Tuala is pulled back, ruled forward. Correct call.

NRL to review trainer conduct as Penrith face fines and potential ban
NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo says rules around trainer conduct and time on the field will be reviewed as Penrith face sanctions over a bizarre interference with Gold Coast kicker Jayden Campbell on Saturday.
The Panthers and yellow shirt trainer Corey Bocking are expected to be fined, and face a potential suspension, after Bocking ran in front of Campbell’s potential match-winning sideline conversion attempt at CBus Super Stadium.
Abdo declined to comment on any potential sanction from the incident, or the incident itself given the NRL’s usual review of weekend games takes place on Monday morning.
However, sources speaking on condition of anonymity given the impending review have indicated though that individual and club fines are likely. A potential ban for Bocking is also in play given suspensions were issued to Penrith trainer Shane Elford and Cowboys counterpart Mitch Dunn for squirting water on the ball earlier this year.
There is no suggestion the Panthers will be stripped of the two competition points from their golden-point victory over the last-placed Gold Coast.

How the Tigers moved on from Galvin saga
By Christian Nicolussi
Amid all the vitriol and animosity of Lachlan Galvin’s messy departure from Wests Tigers this season, one thing seems to have got lost: they wanted to build the club around him.
“Lachie Galvin leaving didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth, but we had set things up around him in terms of our path forward,” Tigers boss Shane Richardson says.

“Galvin’s name was on the whiteboard, and it was going to be on there forever. He was a major part of what we had planned to do. But he didn’t want to be there. His name then came off straight away. And with him leaving, it’s worked out well for everybody.
“I always say a ‘no’ is as good as a ‘yes’. It would have been worse had he left it until November 1 to tell us he was going.
“I know why Galvin wanted to leave. That will stay between me and him. What I do know is I’m so glad we’ve still got Jarome Luai”.

Late Mail: Tigers send Fainu back to the bench
Canterbury are 1-17. The Tigers though, they’ve sent young half Latu Fainu back to the bench with Adam Doueihi partnering Jarome Luai in the halves. Sione Fainu starts at lock. Big call from Benji Marshall but imagine it’s to keep the youngster out of what loom as dour, wet-weather opening exchanges.

Welcome one, welcome all
Afternoon sports fans,
Rugby league coming at you live and rather loud this afternoon as Wests Tigers host Canterbury and the young lad they had planned to build their future around - Lachlan Galvin.
He’s anticipating being booed by the Tigers masses, doesn’t care, apparently. Bigger fish to fry. Which after the Raiders shock loss yesterday, rings true. The Bulldogs can claim first place with a big win. Tigers, wouldn’t they love a sweet up yours to go with a couple of competition points to ensure the wooden spoon is well and truly off their radar?
Kick-off at 2pm AEST. Teams and whatnot to come before then.
