Ohio Republicans muzzle professors, ban diversity on campuses: Letter to the Editor
@Source: cleveland.com
Apparently, Ohio Republicans think it’s a grand idea to muzzle college professors and ban anything remotely resembling “diversity, equity, and inclusion” on campus. In a chilling echo of history’s darkest regimes, Ohio’s governor, Mike DeWine, signed a bill effectively silencing dissenting voices on college campuses. This law, disguised as “intellectual diversity,” actually guts freedom of speech and the right to know the truth, leaving only a narrow and false right-wing perspective.
And now Trump, not to be outdone in the absurdity Olympics, has declared war on “anti-American ideology” at the Smithsonian Institution and National Zoo. Does he think the T-Rex skeleton is a socialist plot, and pandas are “illegal aliens.”
Seriously, what is “anti-American ideology,” anyway? Preferring pizza to apple pie? Questioning why we’re still measuring things in feet and inches? This whole thing reeks of thought policing, plain and simple.
This isn’t about patriotism; it’s about controlling the narrative. It’s about silencing dissenting voices and whitewashing history. It’s about making sure everyone thinks, speaks, and acts exactly the same way. And frankly, it’s terrifying. If we don’t stand up for our right to free speech, even when that speech makes us uncomfortable, we’re all in trouble.
