BENIN – Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the nomination of four Commissioner Designates for the State.
A statement signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq. Secretary to the State Government, gave the names of the four nominees as, Barr. Nosa T. Adams, Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP, Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue and Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa.
According to the statement, Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams is a distinguished legal practitioner and political activist with qualifications in law and human resource management.
“With a career spanning leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, he is committed to championing the cause of a better society.
“Among the leadership positions he has held are: Chairman of Egor Local Government Council; Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor; and General Manager, Edo State Rubber Estates.
“He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and currently serves as the Principal Partner at Nosa Adams & Co”.
“Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa (JP) is a distinguished politician, philanthropist, Rotarian, agricultural scientist, and business consultant. He is also an entrepreneur and community leader who holds degrees in Agriculture and Business Administration.
“He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC–Nigeria) and served as the Executive Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area.
“He has been recognized as an Eminent Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates and is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Auchi Metro and several professional management institutes.
Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue is a distinguished Nigerian chartered accountant, businessman, political leader, and community advocate.
He is also a seasoned administrator and entrepreneur who combines business acumen with public service leadership. He holds degrees in Accounting and Business Administration.
“He served as the Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council and rose to become the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).
He has also held leadership positions in international organisations, including Vice President of the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and Board Member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).
“Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa is a distinguished Nigerian academic, specializing in Industrial and Production Engineering.
“He is a seasoned educator and researcher who combines advanced engineering expertise with academic leadership in automation and control systems.
“He holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical/Production Engineering, an M.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Automation and Control from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the University of Benin, and Ambrose Alli University, respectively.
“He is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).
“Their nominations will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation,” the SSG stated.
