AN 'old man pub for all ages' is set to open in a prime location in a Scots city.
Irish boozer Seamus's will take over the former site of The International bar on Edinburgh's Brougham Place, just a short walk from the picturesque Meadows park.
The venue will feature dartboards, pool tables and punters playing card games.
Seamus's is described as a place "where the pints are cold, the lighter is loud and the competition is fierce."
Staff are also running a competition for folk to win a one per cent share in the pub.
Pubgoers can enter by directly messaging a beer emoji to the venue's Instagram account.
The owners also shared a whimsical backstory about the pub's namesake on their website.
It reads: "Seamus was born in 1862 on the bustling streets of Longford Ireland. At the age of two, Seamus’s father lost him in a poker game, six months later, Seamus won himself back.
"Determined to make his mark on the world, Seamus stowed away on a Ryanair flight to Edinburgh, nestled among bags of Taytos and dreams of dartboard domination. Upon landing, he quickly showcased his unmatched skills at cards, pool, and darts in all of the city’s best old man pubs.
"He then set up his own games leagues and eventually opened his own pub—Seamus’s – an old man’s pub for all ages and sexes. With his quick wit and banter, he quickly became Longford’s best export since… eh… Pat the Baker… and your one Maura from Love Island."
The news came much to the delight of locals, who took to social media to express their excitement.
One wrote: "Can’t wait. It’s always been a good pub but now I’m sure will be even better."
Another teased: "I will be there when you open I’m old and regular".
A third said: "I hope the old regulars continue to support it and I'll defo be popping in now and again."
The opening date for Seamus's is not yet known, but it is advertised as Spring 2025.
