Olivia Attwood swipes at Love Island ex as she shares reality of relationship

Love Island alum Olivia Attwood has opened up about her relationship with ex Chris Hughes, whom she met on the hit ITV2 show back in 2017. Though the couple snagged third place on the show, their love story didn't go the distance, as they went their separate ways after just one year.
Olivia has since tied the knot with footballer Bradley Dack, and the two celebrated their union with a swanky London wedding in June 2023. Recently, Olivia got real about her past relationship during a heart-to-heart with Married at First Sight's Ella Morgan on Olivia's So Wrong It's Right Podcast. Ella divulged to Olivia during the conversation how she used to portray her romance with Celebs Go Dating's Alex James Ali as "perfect" on social media, despite it being far from true.
Olivia resonated, confessing that she too played up her relationship with her former Love Island boyfriend, Chris. "Chris and I did that. He would put up a selfie of me and him with like hearts underneath and I'd be thinking, this p***k hasn't answered the phone to me for four days," she revealed.
But Olivia admitted it wasn't all on Chris; she was also complicit: "I was guilty of it too. We both did it. We felt we had to maintain it. When we split in an explosive way, people said, 'You are amazing together!' I was like, 'We're not, we are horrible together,'" reports the Mirror.
Earlier in the chat, Olivia revealed that couples who seem picture-perfect on social media are often the ones battling it out behind closed doors.
She pointed out, "It's almost, the more you post how happy you are often the case is behind closed doors that it's the opposite," shedding light on the sad state of our digital world and the extra pressure reality TV stars face once they step off the screen.
Olivia has been candid before, attributing 'incompatibility' as the main culprit for her break up with Chris. In a previous interview with MailOnline, she confessed: "It was toxic with Chris and we argued a lot. I never had that problem with Brad, we never argued. I was just incompatible with Chris.
"You meet on this show and things are very different in the real world. You think 'oh s*** do we actually have stuff in common? It wasn't meant to be."
Making headlines last month, there were whispers that Chris had eagerly "signed up" for the upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother, ready to take over screens on ITV soon.
Spilling the details to The Sun, a source revealed: "Producers think Chris will be a great addition to the house. He is really entertaining and was one of the most popular and iconic reality contestants with a massive social media following."
