Olympic gold medal-winning Team USA gymnast Jordan Chiles has made her debut in the pages of SI's Swimsuit Issue.Decked out in a brown Bad N Bare halter-neck swimsuit, Chiles posed for photographer Ben Horton at The Boca Raton in Florida. The image netted her a cover.The 24-year-old UCLA product spoke about how the sheer toughness of her sport can often be underappreciated."I think the biggest thing that people misconceive is really knowing what gymnastics is, and they don't understand how hard our sport is," Chiles shared, per Bailey Colon of Sports Illustrated. "It's definitely something that is hard on your body. As gymnasts, we have more of an impostor syndrome than a lot of people just in the real world. Being [on] the pro side, the athlete side and a businesswoman—it's a lot. It is very time-consuming, but I'm very thankful for it."Along with the rest of Team USA, Chiles claimed a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, as well as a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics — which were actually held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Chiles is one of four SI cover stars this year, along with returning champs Lauren Chan and Olivia Dunne (both of whom have appeared in the pages of the 2023 and '24 Swimsuit Issues, but neither of whom had previously made a cover), and movie star Salma Hayek Pinault. Chiles and Hayek Pinault had never posed for Sports Illustrated prior to this year."The biggest thing I want people to take away [from the photo shoot] is understanding that my body is my body and that I have the ability to express it in millions of different ways and people are going to accept that," Chiles reflected. "It's really cool just being able to finally embrace my beauty in the way I can, so hopefully people can see the beauty inside of me and that they understand that this is a dream come true for me."After pausing her collegiate tenure with the Bruins after the 2023 NCAA season to prioritize Olympic prep, Chiles rejoined the Bruins for the 2025 season, and will be back for 2026. She earned gold medals at the 2023 NCAA Championships in the Uneven Bars and Floor Exercise events, and repeated in 2025 for the Uneven Bars.This story will be updated...
