Olympic Medalist Lovlina Borgohain To Launch Boxing Academy In Guwahati

After achieving Olympic glory for India in boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Lovlina Borgohain is embarking on a new venture. She is establishing the Lovlina Boxing Academy in Guwahati, dedicated to training future generations of medal-winning boxers. The academy is set to open on 3 June 2025.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Lovlina Borgohain, the Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist.
Sharing her vision for the academy, Lovlina said, “This academy is more than just a training facility; it’s a dream realised and a promise kept to myself and to the countless young boys and girls in Assam who dream of stepping into the ring. With the Lovlina Boxing Academy, my deepest desire is to create a nurturing environment where aspiring athletes not only learn the art of boxing but also develop the resilience, discipline, and unwavering spirit needed to succeed.”
The academy reflects Lovlina’s dedication to fostering emerging talent by providing world-class training and infrastructure. It also represents a significant step forward for sports development and sporting infrastructure in Northeast India.
