Muscat, April 23 (QNA) - Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held discussions Wednesday with Turkiye's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, regarding ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
The two ministers exchanged views during a phone call on several regional and international issues.
The Omani Foreign Minister expressed his sympathy and solidarity with Turkey following the earthquake that struck Istanbul today.
The earthquake, measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, hit Istanbul, located in northwestern Turkey, earlier in the day.
According to a statement by Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Silivri region, north of Istanbul, at a depth of 6.92 kilometers. Residents in neighboring provinces also felt the tremors. (QNA)
