Government-owned Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) on Thursday said its chief executive officer, Thampy Koshy, is moving on from the company.ET had learnt this on April 2 and had reached out to Koshy for a confirmation the same day. Koshy had been the network's managing director and CEO since its inception in February 2022. ONDC’s total orders till March stood at 203.9 million. As with any dynamic and evolving organisation, a leadership change is currently underway. Koshy has expressed his desire to step down while helping on with the change,” ONDC said in a statement. “The MD and CEO responsibilities have been transitioned to an executive committee, with Koshy available to the board over the next three months for advice. Koshy’s last day with the network will be in June. He did not respond to ET’s request for a comment. Sources said Koshy is leaving for personal reasons. ONDC did not comment on Koshy's successor.Koshy is the third senior-level executive to leave the network after chief business officer Shireesh Joshi quit in February. Before him, RS Sharma had quit ONDC as its non-executive chaiman.Prior to this, Koshy was an advisor and partner at EY for about 11 years. From 1996 to 2011, he was the executive director of National Security Depository Limited (NSDL).The statement said ONDC has surpassed 200 million transactions and is on track to achieve its key milestones.ONDC, launched in 2022, aimed at democratising digital commerce. The network has about 764,000 sellers and service providers across more than 616 cities. It operates across segments including food and beverage, grocery, fashion, home and kitchen, electronics, financial services and mobility.
