Add another West Coast Conference championship to the trophy case for Oregon State.
The OSU women’s golf team captured the WCC title on Sunday, as sophomore Raya Nakao (-4) won the individual conference championship. It is the school’s first-ever conference title in women’s golf, with its previous best finish a tie for second place in the Pac-12 tournament in 2022.
OSU finished +5 as a team across the three-day tournament, two strokes ahead of second-place Pepperdine (+7). Nakao defeated Eva Pett of San Francisco in a sudden death playoff for the individual title.
Kyra Ly (+2), Madde Sund (+6), Rebecca Kim (+7) and Clara Alevag (+12) rounded out the field of competitors for the Beavers.
OSU earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with their conference crown. The selection show airs at 10 a.m. PT Wednesday on the Golf Channel.
The NCAA Championships will take place at six regional sites across the country from May 5-7.
