Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen clearly has a preference for where he wants to spend next season
Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down a fresh approach from Saudi giants Al Hilal, doubling down on his desire to return to Galatasaray, as Napoli continue to negotiate his exit.
Despite Napoli’s efforts to steer him toward a more lucrative move, the Nigerian striker remains focused on playing Champions League football next season.
Napoli push Saudi deal, but Osimhen stands firm on Galatasaray preference
Napoli are actively trying to offload Victor Osimhen this summer, and with Al Hilal’s latest offer reportedly meeting the club’s financial expectations, club officials have made repeated efforts to convince the player to reconsider the Saudi move.
The proposed deal includes €55 million paid upfront, plus another €20 million in installments, backed by letters of credit.
It’s a financially appealing option for Napoli, especially given Galatasaray’s slower progress in securing the same sum.
However, transfer experts Alfredo Pedullà and Yagiz Sabuncuoglu confirm that Osimhen has once again refused to entertain any communication with the Saudi club, making it clear that his preference lies elsewhere.
Champions League or nothing as Osimhen eyes return to Galatasaray
Having spent the previous season on loan at Galatasaray, where he rediscovered form and momentum, Osimhen is convinced it is the right environment for his next chapter.
His insistence on a move back to the Turkish champions isn’t rooted in sentiment alone, he wants to play Champions League football.
Galatasaray are now working tirelessly to meet Napoli’s €75 million demand with proper documentation and financial guarantees.
As it stands, Osimhen has blocked all advances from Al Hilal, reiterating his disinterest in leaving Europe at this stage of his career. With the player’s stance unshaken, the pressure is now squarely on Galatasaray to finalise the deal swiftly.
