Ramallah, August 25 (QNA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the UN Security Council to stay in continuous session, assume its responsibilities, and take binding measures, especially to guarantee sustainable humanitarian aid to Gaza under Chapter VII, to protect Palestinian civilians and stop Israeli occupation crimes.
In a statement, the Ministry held the Israeli entity fully and directly responsible for the crimes of genocide, displacement, starvation, and annexation it is committing.
It also held the international community responsible for its failure to stop these crimes and its negligence in enforcing the UN Charter, international law, and resolutions of international legitimacy in the case of occupied Palestine, especially in light of the recent UN report on the spread of famine in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Ministry pointed out that the heavily armed occupation army continues to pursue Palestinian civilians, impose a suffocating blockade on their lives, subject them to unprecedented restrictions, and escalate its genocide in the Gaza Strip, while violating the most basic human rights, international law, the Geneva Conventions, and the signed agreements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
