Ramallah, July 21 (QNA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the statement issued by UK, with the participation of the foreign ministers of 25 countries, along with the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Crisis Management, calling for an immediate end to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip and condemning the occupation's continued denial of humanitarian aid and the killing of Palestinian civilians.
In a statement, the Ministry called on the signatory states and the entire international community to materialize these principled positions into practical and tangible measures, including an immediate halt to the policy of genocide, an end to the policy of systematic starvation, ensuring accountability for the perpetrators of crimes against the Palestinian people, and imposing sanctions on the occupation and its leaders.
It added that this international position reflects the international community's shock at the horrific scenes caused by the crimes of the occupation forces, especially the killing of civilians while trying to access food and water through what have become known as "death distribution centers."
It also renewed its call for immediate recognition of the State of Palestine, considering this a legal and moral step that contributes to protecting Palestinian rights and enhances the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions. (QNA)
