The job never stops for Maggie Sajak.
Maggie, the 30-year-old social correspondent for Wheel of Fortune and daughter of beloved former host Pat Sajak, shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday, June 25, of her trying to interview her 78-year-old dad, only for him to hilariously shut down her attempt.
"So, did you always know that you wanted to be a game show host?" Maggie asks while driving her dad in a golf cart.
Pat, who is sitting in the passenger seat and trying to relax, responds, "Maggie, just because we're in a golf cart, you don't have to interview me. You're not at work. We're actually golfing."
This doesn't faze Maggie, though, as she fires back, "Okay, but while we're on the topic, what was your first job in the game show industry?"
With his daughter not giving up, Pat looks over at her, throws up his hands and lets out an inaudible sigh.
"Habit, sorry," she captioned the post.
Fans sounded off in the comments section about the father-daughter duo's interaction.
"Pat is having none of it!" one person wrote, while another added, "The guy just wants to enjoy his retirement!"
Many fans took the post as a time to express how much they miss Pat hosting Wheel of Fortune, a job he held for four decades.
The iconic game show's official Instagram account also chimed in, praising Maggie's interview skills as being "second nature" for her.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Maggie added, "It's just something about a golf cart that makes me inquisitive!"
Pat, who began hosting Wheel of Fortune in 1981, announced in June 2023 that he would be retiring.
He delivered a heartfelt speech during his final episode as host in June 2024, saying, "Well, the time has come to say goodbye. I have a few thanks and acknowledgements before I go. And I want to start with all of you watching out there."
"It's been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade," the TV veteran continued. "And I've always felt that the privilege came with a responsibility to keep this daily half hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game."
