Patriots extra points: DeMario Douglas to attend LLS fundraiser Thursday
@Source: bostonherald.com
Patriots wide receiver DeMario “Pop” Douglas will be on hand for a pre-draft charity event on Thursday, April 17 at Vitamin Sea Brewing in Weymouth at 7 p.m. ET to benefit my Leukemia and Lymphoma Society “Visionaries of the Year” campaign.
Tickets are $25 and available beforehand at eventbrite.com and also will be available at the door.
Entry includes a free beer, and the event will include a social hour, raffle and auction items, a Q&A with Douglas, and a media panel featuring Nick “Fitzy” Stevens of WEEI, the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, The Athletic’s Jeff Howe, MassLive.com’s Mark Daniels and NBC Sports Boston’s Michael Hurley to preview the Patriots’ 2025 NFL Draft. Harmon, the “Be A Man” guy from TikTok and Instagram, will also be on hand for pictures.
I’m raising $100,000 for LLS to honor my daughter, Hallie, who passed away of acute myeloid leukemia last January. If you can’t attend the event, you can donate to the campaign by going to princesshallieforever.com or bid on auction items/buy raffle tickets at dougkyedllsvoy.betterworld.org. Items include Red Sox tickets, a golf foursome, a signed football by Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, a jersey signed by Bruins All-Star David Pastrnak and a 30-minute Zoom call with ESPN’s Field Yates to prepare for your fantasy football season.
Extra points
Vrabel began his presser by sending condolences to the Hasselbeck family on the passing of former Patriots tight end Don Hasselbeck. Both of his sons, Matt and Tim, played at Boston College and went on to NFL careers … Vrabel said it’s “probably a little early” to receive calls from teams interested in trading up in the NFL Draft … How the first three picks will shake out remains a mystery to the Patriots. “I think that we probably know as much as everybody else and what gets reported. I mean, Tennessee’s not calling or Cleveland’s not calling. Even though I was a consultant there last year, I haven’t heard their plans on who they want to pick. So, we’ll see as we get closer. If any of that information’s available, we would love to have it.”
