In our digital age could we not just twist the narrative ever so slightly until your average potential school shooter believes Columbine was an NRA Conference?

I was in 5th grade when Colombine happened. There were days, weeks of talks in our school about how this tragedy would never happen again.
F*ck, were we wrong

Fark, what's with assholes and schools? If you really want to get remembered , there's one person in particular that is you took out, you'd never be forgotten.
/not that I'm advocating for it,just making an observation

schools, even with all their security theatre, are relatively soft targets that offer a high body count in the short time frame typically mass shootings occur under.
They're also major targets of demoralization and terror, and half or more of these losers think they're the Turner diary personification that will spark off the great cleansing.

I was about to graduate high school. It's sobering to realize how long it's been, and how many people didn't get to graduate that day...

"The silicon chip inside her hair gets switched to overload..."
This is not a new thing. That particular excitement happened in 1979. It's slightly interesting that the songwriter had even heard of silicon chips, which were so barely a thing at the time. There were starting to become things that we'd call "home computers" but, they were like buying a bag of potato chips that only contained half of a pretzel stick.

It's definitely been something to see. The entire nation has just... ignored.... school shootings.

It's not a "new thing" but in 1979 it wasn't a common thing. It was so unusual that someone decided to write a song about it.
I'm not sure what kind of a point you were trying to make.

I was a junior in high school. The rural PA school I attended collected the goths and perpetually bullied kids (not the kids who joined the local militia), and had a talk with us about how they knew we were little sociopaths ready to do a mass murder at any point, and the school has an armed officer on campus.
My church youth group had a stage gun that they used for us to practice being martyred for Jesus as we declared that we were Christians as someone held a gun to our head.
Really, modern day doesn't supprise me how it all turned out. I already knew the marks that the GoP uses, and they were primed for it 25 years ago.

Supposedly tried.
And there is no Nobel Prize for trying.

Thomas Matthew Crooks? Probably because he was a creepy conservative going after a fellow conservative.
