Scottie Scheffler put together four incredible rounds of golf at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson event to earn his first 2025 victory.He made history at his hometown event as the former Texas Longhorn tied the PGA Tour 72-hole scoring record.Scheffler signed for an 8-under 63 to finish at 31-under overall and win by eight strokes.The former Texas Longhorn recorded eight birdies, an eagle and two bogeys on Sunday at TPC Craig Ranch. With this victory, Scheffler will take home a $1,782,000 check.This victory also saw him surpass fellow Dallas resident Jordan Spieth in the career wins list. Most of the field battled for second place since Scheffler ran away with the title.Erik van Rooyen outlasted them and finished solo second at 23-under overall. He also signed for an 8-under 63 on Sunday. Van Rooyen won $1,079,000 as he and Scheffler were the only ones who earned over $1 million this week.Sam Stevens was three shots behind the South African, who claimed solo third and $683,100. Jordan Spieth shot the low round of the day with a bogey-free 9-under 62.
