Plot count of tainted Odisha DFO increases from 115 to 123 as Vigilance detects more disproportionate wealth

The scale of disproportionate assets owned by Divisional Forest Officer DFO Nityananda Nayak OFS-I Kendu Leaf Division Keonjhar continues to grow after his arrest following a vigilance raid.
Previously the Vigilance Department had identified 115 plots but the latest findings reveal a total of 123 valuable plots under his and his family members names.
According to vigilance sources Nayak owns 58 plots in his own name 43 plots in his wifes name 18 plots in the names of his two sons and four plots in his daughterrsquos name.
The vigilance report also highlights that Nayak possesses wealth that is 218% more than his known sources of income indicating a massive accumulation of disproportionate assets.

Vigilance sources also revealed that assets unearthed include a 4 storey building 9000sqft 2 farm houses and 2 fish farm ponds at Chhendipada Angul 123 plots gold weighing 200 gm net cash worth Rs.10.25 Lakhs deposits of Rs.50.38 Lakhs and 2 vehicles.
Investigations are ongoing as the vigilance department continues to trace more properties and assets linked to the officer and his family.
Earlier Nayak was arrested and booked under Balasore Vigilance under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act following the seizure. He was arrested following two days of extensive raids at seven locations across Keonjhar and Angul for possession of disproportionate assets DA beyond his known sources of income.
